Dancewave calls upon our community to envision a world in which dance, as a human right, is available to all regardless of income or experience. Our $30,000 fundraising goal will allow us to serve approximately 1,200 new community members, starting with those who have been historically denied access to the arts.

Our impact is far-reaching and growing. Now, and in the coming years, we will:

Facilitate successful college and career transitions, showing young people the power of becoming leaders in the arts
Remove financial barriers to transformative dance education and mentorship, prioritizing equitable access for students from under-resourced communities
Close programming gaps in NYC schools where the arts are not a curricular priority, incorporating positive youth development practices linked to essential life skills
Nurture emerging artists’ and educators’ professional development by providing incubator space, institutional resources and training to support their practices

From NYC public school students taking their first dance class, college-bound students auditioning for scholarships, to professional artists seeking to advance their careers–-all of this is possible at Dancewave!
