The second edition of the Festival of Resistance.

Flower Drive is a historic neighborhood in South Central Los Angeles and the gracious host of the Festival of Resistance. Since 2001, the Flower Drive Tenants Association—a chapter of the Los Angeles Tenants Union (the largest autonomous tenants union in the United States)—has organized against threats of displacement in an ongoing battle with land developers intent on replacing hundreds of rent-controlled apartments with luxury housing. Flower Drive has become a hotbed of not only of tenant rights, but also of broader political education and activism, serving as an inspirational reminder of what is possible through community organizing.
