Since 2016, Power is Giving has been delivering evidence-based, culturally resonant programs in communities most impacted by systemic wellness and access inequities, proving that when you put real resources where they’ve been withheld the longest, sustainable change is inevitable.

WHY NOW

In historically underserved communities, nutrition inequity drives the highest rates of lifestyle-driven chronic illness. Many families have never been exposed to credible, evidence-based lifestyle education that clearly distinguishes what heals from what harms. Our free programs close that gap with curriculum-driven solutions delivered where people already live, learn and gather.

EAT DRINK DISRUPT (EDD) PROGRAMS

EDD Fit & Fuel Youth Tennis Program
Multi-session cohorts led by former Division I HBCU scholarship athletes and nutrition professionals. Youth ages 5-17, build skills, exercise and lifelong healthy habits through tennis, movement, mentorship and whole food, plant-based nutrition tasting and education, which helps combat childhood obesity. EDD Talks Lunch & Learn Program
Culturally resonant, physician and expert-led wellness education paired with chef-prepared whole food, plant-based meals that turn evidence into everyday living. Participants leave with resources they can use immediately, including cookbooks, Power Plate guides, condition-specific nutrition fact sheets, meal planning tools and family education materials that support lasting lifestyle change and the prevention, arrest and reversal of lifestyle-driven chronic illness. EDD Fit & Fuel Tennis Program

EDD Roots Program
EDD Roots delivers culturally aligned whole food, plant-based lifestyle education in trusted everyday spaces through two community series: the Beauty Salon Series at Salon Salas and the Restaurant Series in partnership at Oh My Soul. These programs provide physician and expert-led nutrition education, plant-based food tastings and take-home resources that support sustainable lifestyle transition.

The Restaurant Series also expands optimal nutrition-with-dignity efforts through an onsite community refrigerator for unhoused and food-insecure neighbors, vegan-curious meetups, recipe distribution, tastings and an annual plant-based food drive to benefit Care Ring's food pantry.

EDD Summit Program
A signature half-day wellness equity experience featuring physicians, chefs and subject matter experts. Beginning in FY26, our Summit transitions to a biennial model, allowing resources to strengthen year-round community delivery while sustaining the event’s impact and reach. EDD Summit Recap
