This explosive episode exposes Uganda's 2023 Anti-Homosexuality Act, which prohibits any form of sexual relations between persons of the same sex, in the guise of "protecting" the family structure. Same-sex relations were already illegal in Uganda before the passage of this legislation, as well as in more than 30 other African countries. However, Uganda's appalling and egregious law goes much further and is one of the world's toughest bans.
