At LVADStrong, we are on a mission to support individuals living with Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVADs), a life-saving treatment for heart failure. Studies show that LVAD patients are 60 times more likely to attempt suicide than the average person due to the emotional and physical strain of living with heart failure. This heart-wrenching statistic underscores why our mission is so critical. These patients face not only the burdens of their physical health but also the isolation, stress, and mental health struggles that can come with it.

What We Do

Community Outreach: We engage with first responders across New England, educating them on the LVAD device and how to help LVAD patients in emergencies. Some first responders even get the chance to listen to the hearts of LVAD patients, bridging the gap between understanding and action.
Patient Support: We provide care packages and incentives to encourage LVAD patients to join established support groups, offering them a lifeline of connection. Our goal is to begin delivering care packages to every new LVAD patient at every LVAD center in New England by 2026, ensuring they don’t feel alone in their journey.
Advocacy & Education: We raise awareness about LVAD technology, heart health, and advocate for policies that improve the healthcare system, ensuring better mental health care and treatment for LVAD patients.
Resources & Events: From educational workshops to social events and online guides on travel, camping, and other life activities, we equip LVAD patients and caregivers with the resources they need to lead fulfilling lives – despite the challenges.
