In 1791 the First Amendment was passed guaranteeing freedom of speech and the press in the United States of America.

In honor of the year the First Amendment was enacted in the United States, Seaton Publishing Company is making a donation of $1,791 to the Ukrainian newspaper called 20 Minut, in the city of Zhytomyr. This Ukrainian newspaper has had to suspend printing, switching exclusively to online publishing during the Russian invasion. Despite sheltering in place and fearing for their lives, these journalists have continued to write, publish and distribute their stories so the people of Ukraine can stay informed.

Seaton Publishing Co. is the family-owned business that owns The Daily Sentinel in Grand Junction, Colo.; The Manhattan Mercury in Kansas, and other affiliated local media outlets.
