Discover Beekeeping at the Wetland!

Curious about beekeeping but not sure where to start? Join us for a hands-on introduction to the fascinating world of honeybees and hive management. Explore the tools, equipment, and hive components that make up a working beehive while learning the fundamentals of responsible beekeeping.

Through interactive stations and guided demonstrations, you'll get up close with real beekeeping gear, discover how protective equipment and smokers are used, and learn how a hive is assembled and prepared for a healthy bee colony. Whether you're considering keeping bees yourself or simply want to better understand these important pollinators, this program offers an engaging introduction to the craft of beekeeping.

Please note: No bees will be brought in. Naturally occurring stinging insects are present year-round.

Time: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Capacity: 30 participants

Cost: $7 per person for adults and children 5 and up. 4 and under get in free!

Suit Up Like a Beekeeper: Explore protective clothing, hive tools, smokers, and other essential equipment while learning how beekeepers safely work around bees.
Building the Hive: Get hands-on with hive boxes, frames, foundations, and components as you learn how a hive is assembled and prepared for a colony.

If we must cancel the program, you will receive a full refund. If we must reschedule the program, you will be offered the choice of attending on the new date or receiving a full refund. If you cancel attending the program on the original date, no refund will be issued.
