Fareground is a food justice and food access organization, dedicated to nourishing the community by operating Free Marketplaces, Community Fridges, Tiny Food Pantries, and other programs to distribute fresh and prepared foods. Fareground aims to collaborate to serve the community in a variety of ways to create fair ground. With a focus on healthy food and accessibility for all, Fareground promotes the necessary changes to build local food security.

Fareground has three major areas of work:

At our weekly Free Marketplaces, we offer an enhanced mobile food pantry experience where we bring a range of pantry staples, refrigerated, and frozen foods, including locally-grown items.

Healthy Snacks for Youth is a new program that we launched in April because of the need for more nourishing food for youth that they can access themselves whether after school, during the weekends, or in the summer.

Fareground currently operates eight Tiny Food Pantries and two Community Fridges in collaboration with other organizations and businesses which enable us to provide healthy food to community members who are not able to make it to the Free Marketplaces.

Along with food, we also provide toiletries, baby care items, and information about important resources such as SNAP, HEAP, nutrition, housing, and mental health. Often at our Free Marketplaces, representatives of these helpful services are present to talk with people about their circumstances and needs.
