Sierra came to MVMT to dance. Like so many of our dancers, she arrived with talent — and a quiet hope for something more. A place to feel safe. A place to grow. A place to be herself.

Over time, that hope turned into confidence. Confidence turned into leadership. And dance became a doorway to experiences she never imagined for herself.

This is why we move.

The Problem

For too long, Black and Brown dancers in the Midwest have had to look elsewhere — to Atlanta, New York, or L.A. — to find the training, exposure, and career pathways they deserve.

We're changing that.

Since 2022, MVMT Spaces has been building a home where young dancers don't just learn choreography — they build confidence, discover their voice, and connect with a community that truly sees them.

Where We Are Today

This spring, we open the 2026 season with 116 dancers across 4 programs in Chicago and Cleveland. Through The Diamond MVMT, Halftime Showcase, Away Dance Camp, and our Mine a Diamond scholarship program, our dancers perform at major events, partner with organizations like the Cleveland Cavaliers, and travel beyond their neighborhoods to represent themselves with pride.

We've served over 300 dancers since our founding — and we're just getting started.

The Impact Is Real

Oriana Walton joined The Diamond Dancers as a young girl. She trained with us for 7 years, earned a full scholarship that covered her tuition, and is now in her second year at Southern University A&M — performing with the nationally recognized Fabulous Dancing Dolls.

In her own words: "MVMT played a huge role in shaping my growth as both a dancer and a person. I'm forever grateful for the family and sisterhood that continues to uplift and support me — it's truly everlasting."

What Your Gift Does

This summer, Away Dance Camp is back.

ADC is a high-level 3-day training intensive for dancers ages 9 and up — featuring industry professionals and HBCU facilitators who correct in real time, build technique, and raise the standard. It's not just a camp. It's the room that changes a dancer's trajectory.

Styles covered include Industry Dance, Pro Dance, Majorette, and HBCU movement — led by facilitators who've performed at the highest levels. We don't just count the music. We develop the dancer.

At $499 per dancer, camp fees are a real barrier for many of the families we serve. Your gift helps remove that barrier — so a dancer's financial situation never determines whether she gets in the room.

Every dollar you give fuels the training, the showcases, the scholarships, and the sisterhood that make MVMT a force — and this summer, it helps send a dancer to Away Dance Camp.

🖤 $25 — Puts an ADC t-shirt on a dancer's back on day one

🖤 $50 — Covers one full day of training at Away Dance Camp

🖤 $100 — One full month of regular training for a dancer in need

🖤 $250 — Covers half of one dancer's Away Dance Camp registration

🖤 $500 — Sends one dancer to Away Dance Camp in full

🖤 $1,000 — The full experience for two dancers

🖤 $2,500 — Full Season Sponsor: covers camp, training, and scholarship support for a dancer from start to finish

🖤 $5,000 — Half of our facilitator fees, ensuring campers are trained by elite professionals from the industry

🖤 $10,000+ — All group travel costs, fully funding transportation for every dancer driving in from our Chicago & Cleveland stops.
