We are a Monastic Community and an intentional Orthodox Christian community living according to the Gospel in Plymouth, Indiana. We serve God by serving the poor, the poorest of the poor, the disenfranchised, and the marginalized. As part of the Syriac Orthodox Church, we seek a balance of prayer, work, and community life in emulation of the early Christian communities.

Our various ministries are committed to promoting a fair and empathetic world. Following Christ's teaching, "Whatever you do for the least of my people, you do for me," we are called to listen, be open to one another, share our blessings, and welcome all guests as we would welcome Christ himself.

The Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch is one of the oldest Christian denominations, tracing its origins back to the early days of Christianity. The church is proud to be one of the first apostolic churches established. It is noteworthy that the term 'Christians' was first used in Antioch to describe the followers of Jesus, as mentioned in the New Testament: "The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch" (Acts 11:26). According to tradition, the Church of Antioch is the second church founded in Christendom after Jerusalem, and the significance of its Apostolic See is widely recognized. In his 'Chronicon' (I, 2), Eusebius of Caesarea notes that the Apostle St. Peter established a bishopric in Antioch, serving as its first bishop, and was succeeded by Evodius. Additionally, in 'Historia Ecclesiastica,' Eusebius recounts that Ignatius the Illuminator, "a name well-known to many, was the second after Peter to hold the bishopric of Antioch" (III, 36). By the mid-5th century, the bishops of Antioch and those in Alexandria, Byzantium, and Rome were referred to as patriarchs. Initially known by their given names, the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchs of Antioch have, since 1293, adopted the name Ignatius in honor of the Illuminator. The See of Antioch remains active to this day.

The greatest miracle is not raising the dead, but rather, it is feeding those who are hungry.

"We welcome everyone who is brought to our doors or whom we encounter on the streets at the guidance of Christ. Regardless of religious affiliation or faith, whether Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Atheist, or of no faith, all are warmly welcomed at Christ's table. Our service is without exception – all are invited. We extend our help to the homeless, those on the brink of homelessness, the marginalized, and the impoverished, who have been overlooked and unseen. We offer assistance to individuals and groups to help them advocate for themselves."

We provide basic necessities like food, clothing, shoes, diapers, and toiletries, along with a hot meal, to help ease the burdens of those in need. This helps them use their money for important expenses like rent, utilities, groceries, and transportation. Moreover, we also highlight uplifting stories of individuals making a positive difference in their communities.
