2026 Vision Statement

"The Rodney Kendell Podcast" Fundraising Campaign

Last year, we launched The Rodney Kendell Podcast with a national vision: to uplift Gen Z, millennials, and Black and Brown LGBTQ+ grassroots leaders, organizers, and first-time candidates and to show that everyday people can shape their communities and run for office without losing themselves to political machines. As the work evolved, we made a strategic decision to focus closer to home.

In 2026, we are intentionally centering our efforts in the Commonwealth of Virginia, from Hampton Roads to the DMV. This pivot reflects what we believe deeply: real change is built locally, sustained regionally, and scaled with care. Through the podcast, in-person conversations, and community storytelling, we are documenting and amplifying the work of organizers, educators, public servants, and emerging leaders who are shaping our democracy from the ground up, often without recognition, resources, or platforms.

Our goals for 2026 are to:

Grow The Rodney Kendell Podcast as a trusted civic platform rooted in communities across Virginia from Hampton Roads to the DMV
Amplify grassroots leadership in battleground communities that are too often overlooked
Invest in research, production, and local travel that honors people’s full humanity
Lay the foundation for future regional convenings and expanded tours, built sustainably

This work is not about speed or spectacle. It’s about authorship, dignity, and memory in a time when public life is increasingly flattened into content and optimization. By focusing are reach, we are investing where history, community, and future leadership intersect. This campaign is grassroots-powered by design. Every contribution helps strengthen an independent platform accountable to people, not corporations, and rooted in the communities that make democracy real.
