In July 2026, FCDC opened Bahay Kalinga (Tagalog for “house of care”), a welcoming space in San Francisco for unhoused and displaced neighbors. Kalinga means care, and that is what happens here every day.

Neighbors can meet with a case manager, get hygiene supplies, do laundry, and find a place to rest. Our free Breaking Bread breakfast runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings in the garden patio, with Filipino breakfast on Mondays, American on Wednesdays, and Latin on Fridays.

We are marking Bahay Kalinga’s first 100 days with a goal of raising $20,000 to keep the doors open and the programs running.

Give $62 and honor the person who embodies kalinga for you.

Think of someone who has shown you kalinga: the person who showed up, looked out for you, or made you feel cared for. For every $62 you give, we will add a “kalinga name” in their honor to our 100 Days wall at Bahay Kalinga. Each name on the wall celebrates the people who have cared for us. Your gift pays that care forward by supporting one person for one day at Bahay Kalinga.

Your honoree’s name goes on the wall. You are welcome to stay anonymous.

Here is how you can help:

Give: Every $62 adds another kalinga name to the wall and moves us closer to $20,000.
Fundraise: Become a Bayanihan Builder (Click on the green, Build Bayanihan button). Bayanihan (neighbors coming together to carry a shared effort) is how our community has always built things. Start your own fundraising page, set a personal goal, and invite friends, family, and coworkers to give in honor of their own kalinga person. Every gift to your page counts toward our goal.
Share: Send this page to a friend, coworker, or family member, and invite them to honor their own kalinga person.

Thank you for helping us care for our neighbors.
