100 BLACK MEN. GIVE $100.

One Powerful Movement. Countless Stories Worth Telling.

Black men have been taught how to survive. But have we been given the space to heal?

For generations, Black men have been expected to be strong, resilient, and unwavering, even while carrying the weight of challenges that often go unseen.

We are expected to provide. To protect. To lead. To persevere.

But who creates space for Black men to be vulnerable? Who checks on the men who are expected to hold everything together? And what happens when the pressure to be strong becomes a barrier to asking for help?

The Fade Project is working to change that conversation. And we need your help to bring it to the screen.

ABOUT THE FADE PROJECT

The Fade Project is a feature-length documentary exploring Black men's mental health, identity, vulnerability, resilience, and healing through one of the most culturally significant spaces in the Black community: the barbershop.

For generations, the Black barbershop has been more than a place to get a haircut. It has been a gathering place for brotherhood, storytelling, cultural expression, debate, and connection.

It is where Black men talk about life, relationships, family, politics, success, disappointment, and everything in between.

But what happens when those everyday conversations go deeper?

Through the personal journeys of four Black men, alongside perspectives from mental health professionals and cultural experts, The Fade Project explores the experiences that shape Black men's emotional well-being and the barriers that too often prevent us from speaking openly about our struggles.

This film seeks to challenge harmful stereotypes, confront the stigma surrounding mental health, and demonstrate that vulnerability and strength can coexist.

WHY THIS FILM MATTERS NOW

Across America, conversations about Black men's mental health are finally receiving much-needed attention.

Yet, despite growing awareness, many Black men continue to face significant barriers to accessing mental health support, including stigma, cultural expectations, financial challenges, and a lack of culturally responsive care.

And these challenges are unfolding during a particularly difficult moment in our country's history.

Political uncertainty. Racial injustice. Economic instability. Concerns about civil rights. Community violence. Social division. The constant pressure to succeed in systems that have not always been designed for our success.

These realities can take an emotional toll.

For Black men, the expectation to remain strong through it all can make it even more difficult to acknowledge when something is wrong.

While conversations about mental health are becoming more visible, we must ensure that Black men are not left out of the discussion or reduced to statistics and stereotypes.

We deserve more than conversations about our struggles. We deserve spaces that recognize our humanity, celebrate our resilience, and support our healing.

The Fade Project is being created to help make those spaces possible.

A FILM FOR ALL BLACK MEN

There is no single definition of what it means to be a Black man.

Our identities, experiences, beliefs, backgrounds, and journeys are as diverse as the communities we represent.

The Fade Project is for ALL Black men.

Regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, religion, age, socioeconomic status, educational background, profession, or lived experience, every Black man deserves to be seen, heard, respected, and supported.

Whether heterosexual, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, religious, spiritual, nonreligious, or anywhere along the spectrum of identity and experience, your story matters.

This documentary is not about telling Black men who they should be.

It is about creating space for Black men to show up as they are.

Because mental health does not discriminate, and neither should our compassion.

THE CHALLENGE: 100 BLACK MEN, GIVE $100

100 Black Men. $100 Each. One Powerful Movement.

We're calling on 100 Black men to invest $100 each toward bringing The Fade Project to life.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help tell the stories of Black men, challenge mental health stigma, and inspire conversations that can change lives.

This is about more than raising money. It's about Black men investing in our own stories, our mental health, and the well-being of future generations.

But this challenge is not exclusive.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO GIVE, AND EVERY DONATION MATTERS.

You do not have to be a Black man to participate, and you do not have to contribute $100. Whether you give $10, $25, $50, $100, or more, your support brings us closer to our goal.

Our $10,000 goal represents an important step toward supporting the documentary's production and completion. If we surpass our goal, additional contributions will help us continue the work and expand the film's reach.

GIVE IN HONOR OF A BLACK MAN

Behind every Black man is a story worth acknowledging.

We invite you to make your donation in honor or memory of a Black man who has made a meaningful difference in your life.

Your father. Your son. Your brother. Your husband. Your partner. Your friend. Your mentor. Or someone whose strength, love, guidance, or legacy continues to inspire you.

When donating, simply include his name and a brief dedication in the notes section of your contribution.

This is an opportunity to celebrate Black men while they are here to receive their flowers, honor those who have come before us, and remind the men in our lives that they matter.

Every donation tells a story. Every dedication honors a life. Every contribution moves us forward.

WHERE YOUR DONATION GOES

Your financial support will help bring The Fade Project from vision to screen.

Documentary Production

Supporting filming, interviews, equipment, production crews, travel, and the resources necessary to capture the powerful stories at the heart of the documentary.

Post-Production

Supporting professional editing, sound design, music, color correction, graphics, and the finishing work needed to create a compelling feature-length film.

Community Screenings and Conversations

As funding permits, supporting screenings and community conversations that bring the documentary to barbershops, community organizations, educational institutions, and other spaces where meaningful dialogue can continue beyond the screen.

Our immediate fundraising priority is completing production and post-production. Additional resources will help us expand the film's reach and impact.

MORE THAN A FILM. A MOVEMENT TOWARD HEALING.

We understand that a documentary alone cannot eliminate the challenges affecting Black men's mental health.

But we believe storytelling has the power to change perspectives, challenge stigma, and inspire action.

We believe one honest conversation can encourage another.

We believe seeing someone who looks like you speak openly about his experiences can remind you that you are not alone.

We believe Black boys deserve to grow up knowing that expressing their emotions does not diminish their strength.

And we believe Black men deserve the freedom to be human without carrying the burden of appearing invincible.

The Fade Project is about more than documenting the struggle. It's about creating opportunities for understanding, connection, and healing.
