Imagine losing your home, your belongings, and your sense of security overnight. For many families in western North Carolina, this became their reality when Hurricane Helene swept through our community, leaving devastation in its wake. Families are now left without shelter, facing the harsh winter months with nowhere to turn. That’s where the 100 Shelters Project comes in.

As someone who has lived and worked in this community my entire life, I’ve seen firsthand the resilience of our neighbors and the strength of our shared bonds. When disaster struck, I knew I couldn’t stand by and watch families struggle without a safe place to call home. That’s why I teamed up with Paul Crowe, a skilled designer and builder based in Wisconsin, to create a solution.

Together, we’ve developed the 100 Shelters Project, an initiative to provide prefabricated, easy-to-assemble shelters that offer warmth, safety, and dignity to families displaced by Hurricane Helene. These shelters are designed to be durable, quick to set up, and affordable, so we can make a meaningful impact, one family at a time.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: to provide 100 prefabricated temporary shelters for displaced families in need. Each shelter costs only $750 and provides a safe, warm, and stable space for families as they work to rebuild their lives.

But we can’t do this alone. We need your help to make this vision a reality.

Why This Matters
While disaster relief efforts take time, families are left in limbo. Government aid, insurance claims, and long-term rebuilding projects can take months or even years. These shelters bridge the gap, offering immediate relief and hope for a better tomorrow. With winter fast approaching, your support is crucial.

We’ve created several sponsorship tiers so everyone can make an impact:

Sponsor a Shelter – $750
- Fully funds one shelter for a family in need.
- Your Perks:
  - Your name, business, or dedication (e.g., "In Memory of [Name]") will be placed on the shelter.
  - A personalized thank-you letter and photo of the sponsored shelter.
  - Recognition on our website and social media as a full shelter sponsor.

Half Shelter Sponsor – $375
- Provides half the cost of a shelter for a family.
- Your Perks:
  - Name included in a group acknowledgment on our website and social media.
  - Updates about the family your contribution helped.

Community Builder – $150
- Contributes to materials like insulation and winterization.
- Your Perks:
  - Recognition in a collective thank-you post on social media.
  - Updates on the project’s progress.

Foundation Supporter – $75
- Helps with transportation or grading costs for one shelter.
- Your Perks:
  - Name included in a donor acknowledgment list on our website.

Project Friend – $25
