I am excited to bring awareness and fundraise for the Hospitality House of Charlotte by being a participant in 1400 for 1400 Scott!
In just 4 weeks I have committed to raising $4400 for this year's campaign. Hospitality House of Charlotte (located at 1400 Scott Avenue) provides the comforts of home by offering affordable accommodations in the heart of Charlotte’s medical community. Whether families are facing a cancer diagnosis, awaiting an organ transplant, or dealing with another serious illness or injury, HHOC's goal is to provide a home away from home where patients and families can get the rest, comfort, and nourishment they need while also building a community with others enduring similar medical battles. Last year 4,000 people were served by Hospitality House.
Hospitality House of Charlotte is a very special place - a place only possible because of supporters like us. The rest, hope, and support of HHOC can change the life of a patient and their family, and so can we.
A few things have changed since I began this journey when this fundraising campaign was called the Queen City Corporate Challenge a few years back. Since joining the board of HHOC two years ago, my passion for the house and its mission is even stronger than ever. Seeing how the house has supported the medical community and patients during the pandemic is nothing but extraordinary. The staff has gone above and beyond to keep the guests safe and healthy while also operating on a limited capacity. My family misses being able to go to the house and volunteer, but being able to send supplies and provide occasional catered meals still allows us to support the guests and the staff. My point in sharing is that Hospitality House of Charlotte has become much more than a fundraising effort for me and my family. I believe the House's mission of how "HHOC supports healthy outcomes, provides stability and strengthens community for patients receiving medical care."
