The Suffolk Alumnae Chapter (SAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was chartered on September 12, 1964, to serve the needs of the Suffolk community through its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. SAC is committed to making a difference and positively impacting our community by providing funds to support our program initiatives and scholarships within Suffolk, VA.

The 1913 Scholarship Fundraiser is our annual scholarship fundraiser that kicks off on January 1. Although the fundraiser runs from January 1st to 31st, we accept scholarship donations year-round. The purpose of this fundraiser is to support Suffolk high school graduating seniors as they enter college.

This is our fifth year sponsoring the 1913 Scholarship Fundraiser! We ask our family, friends, and community to continue supporting and investing in our scholarship program so we can continue investing in our children, who are the promise and the future.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was founded on January 13, 1913, on the campus of Howard University by 22 phenomenal women. We are indebted to these trailblazers who paved the way for the Sorority to have approximately 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters worldwide, consisting of approximately 350,000 college-educated women. The Sorority promotes academic excellence; establishes positive public policy, highlights relevant issues, and provides solutions for problems in underserved communities.
