WHAT TO EXPECT ON OCTOBER 20!

3:00PM – Welcome!

Visit our welcome tent to receive a free GHC squishy ball. You will also visit this tent for all things related to the event, including Home Run Derby Balls, Bingo Cards, and more. Attendance is free to all events during the Field Naming Celebration, but if you would like to have a card for softball bingo or a ball pitched for home run derby, please purchase those items by clicking “SUPPORT THE TEAMS” at the top of this page. You MUST BE in attendance to win any prizes. Proceeds go to support the Athletic Fund at Georgia Highlands College.

3:15PM – Field Naming Ceremony

Enjoy a short ceremony where we will officially unveil the signage for the names of the fields. The softball field will be named after Carol Brown, and the baseball field will be named after Cdr. Robert Bentley USN (Ret).

3:30PM – Inflatables, Food Trucks, and More!

Take a tour of our new athletic facility, enjoy inflatables and yard games, or stop by a food truck.

4:00 PM - Softball Bingo on the Carol Brown Softball Field

Purchase a Bingo Card at the top of this page by clicking "SUPPORT THE TEAMS" and receive a commemorative GHC Baseball Helmet Bowl!

5:00 PM - Home Run Derby on the Cdr. Robert Bentley USN (Ret) Baseball Field

Purchase a Home Run Derby Ball at the top of this page by clicking "SUPPORT THE TEAMS" and receive a commemorative GHC 18" Mini Wooden Baseball Bat.

5:30 PM - Meet Mark Wohlers!

Mark Wohlers will be joining us for this event on October 20^th! Mark was a relief pitcher for Atlanta Braves during the 1995 World Series. He is the third fastest recorded pitcher in baseball history, having thrown a pitch recorded at 103 miles per hour in 1995. Meet the former MLB World Series winning pitcher and get a ball signed for free (while supplies last.)

Prizes:

The first 3 Bingo winners will receive a Savoy Family Membership. During the Home Run Derby, we will announce your name or the name of your business before the pitch. The pitcher will draw from a randomized bucket of baseballs. If your name is called when the Orange Ball is pulled and the batter hits it out of the park, you win a three-night stay at the Courtyard by Marriot. If a Blue Ball is pulled and the batter hits it out of the park, you win a special Downtown Cartersville Package that includes restaurant gift cards, tickets to local museums, and more. (Must be 18 years old or older to win any prizes. You must be in attendance to win. Proceeds go to support the Athletic Fund at Georgia Highlands College.)
