EqualHealth believes that global solidarity is a powerful force in addressing existing inequalities around the world. Our Mutual Aid program was designed to help communities, families, colleagues and partners who are affected by natural and human-caused disasters.

Right now the Haitian community is currently facing an unprecedented crisis marked by escalating violence within Haiti and the weaponization of immigration policies that unjustly target Haitians in the U.S. Many of our partners, colleagues, and friends at EqualHealth are among those affected by these dire circumstances.

We ask you to join us in standing in solidarity with these communities as they face internal displacement due to gang violence, and as our Haitian people in the diaspora are pursued and criminalized by the U.S. government. It's important to remember that the arms and ammunition fueling the insecurity in Haiti come from the U.S., and that developed countries like the U.S., France, and international financial institutions such as the World Bank and IMF have historically contributed to the destabilization and exploitation of Haiti since its independence, to learn about the history of Haiti.

Recently, Mirebalais was attacked by armed groups, displacing thousands who had sought refuge from the violence in Port-au-Prince. Haiti’s largest remaining hospital has been forced to close its doors. The U.S. government's decision to deport Haitians back to the dangerous conditions they helped create is an act of profound cruelty.

We all share the responsibility to fight these injustices. While reparations can never fully heal the generational trauma, suffering, and wealth disparities we have caused, we can act now in solidarity.

We are launching a mutual aid campaign with a goal of raising $30,000. Your contribution to this cause is invaluable as we need the global solidarity power to stay strong in these moments of community care and resistance..

Since 2010, EqualHealth has been working closely with local institutions in Haiti to strengthen health sciences education, build critical consciousness, and address health inequities and social injustices.
