Each week, we raffle off something uniquely Ukrainian for the benefit of Ukraine's frontline defenders. Up this week:

Wood bulava

This gorgeous bulava belongs to UFL's own Scott (at least for the next few days). The polished wood ceremonial mace is 49 cm long (~19") with an 11 cm (4.5") diameter head. In Scott's own words:

"My mother brought this bulava back from Kyiv for me over 20 years ago on a church-sponsored exchange trip. Not until this evil war started did I understand what this represented in Ukraine; for me, it signifies the historical struggle for Ukrainian identity, sovereignty, and independence.

I have been its caretaker for decades, but I think it needs to fulfill its true purpose and defend Ukraine."

The pictures don't really do this justice - it is truly gorgeous; carved designs and twisted wire inlays add a remarkable depth.

The proceeds from this week's raffle will go towards funding a sorely-needed vehicle for the soldiers of the 3rd Assault brigade.
