🐾💔 URGENT: Our Rescue Is in Crisis — We Need You Now 💔🐾

Friends, supporters, animal lovers — I’m writing this with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart.

At First Watch Rescue, we have devoted every ounce of our time, energy, and love to the cats who have no one else. The ones too sick, too injured, or too abandoned for anyone else to take in. Over the past months, we’ve:

Taken in over 50 cats and kittens, many suffering from serious illness or injury.
Paid thousands of dollars in emergency vet bills, from broken bones and infections to emergency surgeries.
Spent countless nights hand-feeding kittens, soothing terrified cats, and cleaning endless cages to give them a second chance.
Worked tirelessly to match each one with a safe, loving home — even when it meant traveling across the county in the middle of the night.

We do all of this because it’s worth it — every purr, every nuzzle, every little life saved. But the truth is: we are in a devastating deficit. 💔

The reality of rescue is brutal. Emergency vet bills alone are more than $20,000 over the past few months. Add in daily food, litter, medications, and foster care costs, and the total debt we’ve had to carry has spiraled out of control.

We got here because we refuse to turn away cats who need us. We’ve had to say “we’re full” more times than we can count, and every time we do, it breaks our hearts — because we know the next person we refer them to might say no too.

Right now, our hands are stretched beyond capacity. We have cats in foster homes who desperately need ongoing medical care. We have kittens not even a week old still fighting for life. And we have bills piling up, threatening to shut down the one place these cats can call home.
