On October 1st, Defender of Ukraine Day, we gathered in Times Square, New York City to honor our brave defenders who protect our independence. Together, we expressed our gratitude for those who sacrifice so much for our freedom and remembered those who gave their lives for Ukraine.

As part of an artistic performance, passersby from around the world pulled letters written by Ukrainian children from Christmas stockings, read them aloud, and expressed their solidarity. This powerful act starkly contrasted the festive spirit of the holidays with the harsh reality of war, leaving many deeply moved.

This installation was inspired by the idea of a domino effect - how one action or decision triggers a series of events that influence the future. Every action counts, every decision has consequences.

Based on legislative processes and current politics in Congress and the White House, we also organize appropriate actions in Washington, DC.

We also work hard to get these efforts noticed by the media, especially in the U.S., because it’s so important to keep Ukraine on people’s minds and in local conversations.

Along with organizing our own events, we join the daily rallies outside Congress that have been going strong every single day since the full-scale invasion began. Creative posters, flags, and eye-catching installations help us grab the attention of officials, congressmembers, and thought leaders. These moments spark conversations and sometimes even influence decisions and votes.

Rebirth team has been at it almost from the start of the invasion. We believe creativity and powerful actions can really move people, challenge stereotypes, and cut through Russian propaganda. We never see anything as impossible. That said, having more resources and materials would help us reach more people and make a bigger impact. Everything we do—every rally, every installation—is built with the time, effort, and heart of us.
