Journeys are all too familiar for most. Rather intentional ones, or not. We have collectively been on them. Some easier or harder, than others. Journeys are about learning new things. Leaving things behind, when necessary. Letting yourself feel all the emotions, and giving yourself love. When UAY first came into my life, I was a new mother at 20 (pregnant at 19). I was able to utilize UAY supports, and services. To assist in supporting myself, and my son. That was a HUGE journey for me. Since that time, UAY has continued to support me. This time, as an employee. Through hard work moments, to hard personal times. I was on my own journey, but UAY was there too. Who would have guessed I'm on another journey!?. This one however, will be one for the books. Still healing from back surgery (June 15th). I can't participate in the ride this year. I can participate, by fundraising though!. My reason... Stepping in to help just like UAY did for 19 year old me, ten years ago. Next year, expect to see me out there!.
