The Valley View Volunteer Fire Department is vamping up for our annual 2023 Fishin’ for Funds, formerly known as our Spring Fish Fry, Raffle & Auction. Our fundraiser will take place on Sunday, April 23rd, 2023 from 11:00am – 4:00pm at The Gardenia Wedding & Event Center in Valley View, Texas. This event consists of a Fish Fry, Games/Raffles, Auction, and a Concert.

We are a fully volunteer department, established in 1976, with 22 active members. In 2022 we ran between 550 - 600 calls. We are the top responding and busiest volunteer department in Cooke County. Our calls consisted of motor vehicle accidents, grass, structure & vehicle fires, controlled/illegal burns, smoke investigations, gas leaks/fuel spills, power lines, severe weather, and general public service calls. All our members are full-time employees outside volunteering for VVFD, and our professions range from Careflight Paramedic, Paramedics, Firefighters, EMTs, Teachers, Engineers, State/County/City Employees, and Business Owners.

How does a volunteer department make money you ask? The answer is you, the community, and this event. We are blessed to receive county, city, and monetary donations from local donors and businesses, but it is not enough to meet the demand and needs of our district. This event keeps us running & helps us serve you!

This is our biggest fundraising event of the year & we are hopefully 2023 will be a huge fundraising success.
