Your Monroe County Democratic Party will hold its annual Roosevelt Reception on May 22nd, at the Switchyard Pavillion. In 2022, MCDP renamed our Spring event to honor not only the legacy of FDR’s founding of the modern Democratic Party, but also Eleanor Roosevelt’s voice as a global citizen and fighter for human rights.

This year we welcome our keynote speaker Dr. Amrita Chakrabarti Myers, Associate Professor of History at Indiana University and author. Dr. Chakrabarti Myers will be sharing her new book, "The Vice President's Black Wife: The Untold Life of Julia Chinn". This book took a decade to complete and has been panstakingly put together. It's an integral piece of histroy and a must read. There will be books for purchase at the event.

We will also be hearing from our Federal, State-wide, and State Rep candidates.
