Join CARE for the Cape & Islands, Cape Cod Anti-Litter Coalition, Center for Coastal Studies at the 6th Taking Care of Cape Cod Summit at The 204 Cultural Arts Municipal Building, 204 Sisson Rd, Harwich, on November 21st, 2024 from 12:00pm - 4:30pm.

This year’s theme is Stemming the Tide of Wastefulness: We Can Make it Happen!

The program is focused on tangible ways to reduce waste and engage in environmental stewardship for individuals, businesses, municipalities, and organizations.

What to Expect from the Summit:

Keynote address from Dr. Nikola Garber, Deputy Director of the National Sea Grant Office and National Sea Grant College Program, and meet & greet with Dr. Madison Willert, PhD, Marine Debris Specialist in the National Sea Grant Office.
Waste reduction presentations and workshops from ReThink Disposable: How to Start a Reusables Program, RecyclingWorks MA (CET) and the Hyannis Yacht Club: Food Scrap Diversion and Building a Sustainable Culture, and the Falmouth School District: Learning from a Student Led Composting Program.
Businesses that CARE sustainable business practices panel in partnership with Love Live Local featuring Green Road Refill and The Glass Jar Market.
World premiere of the Big Tree produced Falmouth Plastic Reduction Advisory Committee mini-documentary.
Attendees can also participate in Barnstable Land Trust's Climate Creatives/Rising Waters “fish flags” temporary art installation to help create a visual display of rising sea levels in 2030, 2050, and 2070. Seaside Botanical Art by Stephanie King will also be displaying their work highlighting the connection of nature and art.
Immediately following the Summit CARE will be hosting the 2024 Stewardship Awards Autumn Soiree from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, which is included with Summit registration.

Registration options include Pay in Advance, Pay at the Door, and a Donation Suggested option (which does not include admission to the Stewardship Awards).

And excited to offer free admission to high school and college students, as well as a “donate what you can” option for Cape Cod Young Professionals members, hospitality, and food service industry professionals!
