Kairos Outside of East Texas has participated in Distance for Deliverance the past couple of years in Paris, TX. This year we have decided to hold one in Longview, TX, hoping to spotlight this ministry for the women who struggle with an incarcerated family member's absence.

Our next Kairos Outside weekend will be held on October 17-19, 2025. Our goal is to raise money and awareness to help make it possible. We hold Weekends twice a year, currently at the Timberline Baptist Camp in Lindale. To prepare for the Weekend we hold six months of training for 20-30 volunteers and we accept up to 30 women to attend. Requirements are you must be impacted by incarceration and be 20 years of age or older. There is no cost for the guest although the cost for a Weekend is about $9,000 or $150 per person. That is where you come in…please help us! There are several ways to help:

Prayer is a vital need—please stand in the gap for us as we seek to do God’s will.
Join us in this ministry! The only requirement is a love for God and a willingness to partner with us for training.

We will meet at Lois Jackson Park to park our cars and be transported to the Northside of Boorman Trail. Stragent Dog Park is at the beginning of our route and we will go Southbound on Boorman Trail for 2 miles to end again at Lois Jackson Park.

Dawnya’s Testimony:

"I had never heard of Kairos, but was interested when I heard about it. I had spent the past year grieving; isolated and alone ever since my husband had been picked up and sentenced for a crime that happened before I knew him.

I attended Kairos Outside of East Texas #2 in Tyler, TX. The weekend was amazing! I met other women going through similar things and for the FIRST time since he went down my name was safe in someone else’s mouth. This is when I began the path toward healing. There are so many people out there who are locked in a prison, whether it is in TDCJ or a woman who is locked in the prison of Isolation and Rejection—and they NEED us. I am proud to be a part of this ministry."
