What is Not-a-Sprint Month?

Rooted in the idea that cancer is not a sprint—it’s a marathon—Not-A-Sprint Month 2025 brings people together through endurance, community, and purpose. The month includes multiple high-impact events across Western North Carolina that educate, promote, and advocate for the quality of life of cancer patients and their caregivers.

Key events include:

Not-A-Sprint Endurance Run – Sunday, August 31st in Forest City, NC
A 3-, 6-, or 12-hour endurance race, starting at 6am on the beautiful, flat Thermal Belt Rail Trail. Athletes, survivors, and supporters alike run or walk in solidarity with cancer patients who face physical and emotional challenges every day.

2025 Fundraising Concert – Thursday, September 11th in Black Mountain, NC
A vibrant evening of live music, celebration, and connection.

The 2025 Attitude & Effort Golf Tournament – Friday, September 26, 2025 at Meadowbrook Golf Club
This Fourth-annual tournament honors resilience and raises critical funds to support Cancer Active’s year-round programming.

Annual Cancer Active Auction – September 2025
Featuring one-of-a-kind items and experiences, the auction invites individuals and businesses to contribute and connect. It’s an opportunity for meaningful giving—and meaningful impact.

We offer multiple sponsorship levels to match your desired involvement and impact:

Gold Sponsor – $5,000
Choose which key event to sponsor (Golf Tournament, Fundraising Concert, or Endurance Run). Receive 4 event tickets, prime signage placement, name and logo on sponsor banners and t-shirts, social media promotion, vendor spot at the race expo, giveaway bag inclusion, and more.

Silver Sponsor – $2,500
Includes 2 event tickets, prominent recognition across events, logo placement on banners and shirts, social media promotion, and event signage.

Bronze Sponsor – $1,000
Includes 1 event ticket, logo recognition on sponsor banners and t-shirts, social media shoutouts, and signage.

Tee Box Sponsor – $500

Includes 1 golfer, recognition at the golf tournament with signage and thank-you mentions.

Friend Sponsor – $250
