About Porchlight Community Services
Since 2016, Porchlight has been rescuing surplus food and turning it into nourishing meals for families in central San Diego. Our grocery-style model allows families to choose foods that meet their needs, preserving dignity while fostering community. Each year, thousands of families receive more than groceries—they gain connection, support, and hope. With your help, we make sure everyone has access to a full, nourishing meal.

Give the Gift of a Full Thanksgiving Meal
Since 2018, our community has come together to ensure families can celebrate Thanksgiving without added stress. Thanks to Senator Akilah Weber Pierson’s Annual Turkey Giveaway, the turkeys are already covered—Porchlight Community Services is making sure every other part of the meal is provided, from sides and desserts to the little details that make a holiday special.

This year, our goal is to raise $2,500 to provide 45 families with complete Thanksgiving meals. Your support directly funds the ingredients and supplies these families need to sit down to a full, nourishing holiday meal in the comfort of their own home.

Why This Matters
Thanksgiving is often a time of celebration—but for some families, financial stress can make the holiday overwhelming. Bills, rent, and daily expenses can leave little room for a special meal. Your donation ensures that no family has an empty plate this Thanksgiving, allowing them to focus on gratitude, family, and community.
