The Preservation Achievement Awards, held every other year in honor of National Historic Preservation Month, recognize those whose efforts have helped safeguard our community’s heritage.

This year, we are proud to honor:

🏆 Stan & Joni Hernly* – For their outstanding architectural and preservation work, including stabilizing and restoring St. Luke AME Church and rescuing the historic 1100 Rhode Island property.

🏆 Karl Ramberg – For his invaluable craftsmanship in masonry restoration and his dedication to educating others in the field, as well as his advocacy for historic preservation.

🏆 Matt Gilhousen – For his ambitious rehabilitation projects, including the Stubbs building, the Broom Factory, and the ongoing restoration of the historic Rueter Building.
