For about 60 years, Troop 719’s Pancake Breakfast has been a long-standing local community event and.our most important fundraiser of the year. It is an annual gathering of Troop 719 family and alumni, together with our many friends and supporters of Scouting in the Gardena/Torrance community. As our sister Scout Troop 310G continues to grow and thrive, we are thrilled to again combine efforts and look forward to welcoming our collective friends and community at Troop 719 & 310G's 2025 Pancake Breakfast!

On Sunday, April 13th, from 7AM until 11AM, our Pancake Breakfast will be served at the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute. We are looking forward to having you join us to enjoy your traditional Pancake Breakfast plates prepared by Scouts, Parents and alumni of Troop 719 & Troop 310G. For your convenience, we will also provide an option for take-out or pick up where our Scouts will assist you with your breakfasts to-go.

Thank you to all of our troop family and friends who supported us in 2024 at our Pancake Breakfast and Golf Tournament! With your support, our Scouts were able to experience a memorable Scouting year that included weekend backpacking trips in the Angeles National Forest, Wind Wolves Nature Preserve and the San Gorgonio Wilderness. We also held a family camp in the Cleveland National Forest and went to Summer camp at Camp Fiesta on Mission Bay in San Diego. The highlight of the year for both 719 and 310G was the High Sierra Long Term treks into the Hoover Wilderness of the Humbolt-Toiyabe National Forest. Over 7 days and 6 nights on the trail our Scouts backpacked with their patrols between 25 and 50 miles into the northern boundary area of Yosemite National Park where we crossed passes of over 11,000ft, fished in streams and lakes and enjoyed the dramatic scenery in Matterhorn Canyon. In the fall we continued our traditional Rock Climbing weekend at Joshua Tree National Park. For the first time since the Pandemic, we built upon our collaboration with Troop 578 to restart the Invitational Field Day as a Scout planned and led event with several new troops at Oso Lake Scout Camp. Both Troop 719 and 310G also continued our focus on the development of our scouts as leaders and rank advancement.

In May 2024 we proudly honored the achievements of seven Troop 719 Eagle Scouts from the Eagle class of 2023 at our Eagle Court of Honor held at the Gardena Valley Baptist Church. We look forward to honoring six additional Eagle Scouts from the Eagle Class of 2024 at our upcoming Eagle Court of Honor in March. Troop 310G is also very proud to soon welcome their first Eagle Scout into their nest!

Both Troop 719 and 310G are looking forward to our Scouts who have advanced and will soon be ready to approach that summit in 2025! Our Scouts also continued to support their community through assisting with food drives, toy drives, Halloween Festival, helping local families during Thanksgiving and other community events. Together with Troop 310G we were happy to continue our troop’s annual tradition of honoring the memory of service members on Memorial Day at Green Hills Memorial Park and VFW Post 1961. We are also proud of the progress made by our sister Troop 310G as they continue to grow and increase their skills and experience in the outdoors and on the trail. Looking ahead to 2025, in addition to our normal Scouting activities, Troop 719 and 310G will be returning to the Sierra Nevada mountain range for our Long Term treks where we will cover between 25 and 40 miles in the Ansel Adams Wilderness near Mammoth Lakes and the Desolation Wilderness near Lake Tahoe where we’re looking forward to challenging routes, scenery, fishing and perhaps climb a peak or two.
