What is it? The largest fundraiser of the Great Barrington Rotary Club is the “Drive for Scholarships,” which culminates with the annual Golf Tournament at the Wyantenuck Country Club. The Tournament will be held on August 7. The Restaurant Raffle will be one of several fundraising efforts leading up to that date. Gift certificates donated by local restaurants will make up the raffle. Tickets will be $5 each or five for $20 and
will be sold during the weeks leading up to the Golf Tournament. At the Tournament lunch, two winners will be drawn, and the certificates will be divided between them.

What is the charitable purpose? The funds raised will go to scholarships for higher education for students from the Southern Berkshire and Berkshire Hills School Districts, as they have for 40 years.

All the net proceeds of the Golf Tournament and Restaurant Raffle are donated to the Rotary Club’s not-for-profit Student Assistance Fund. To date, the Student Assistance Fund has awarded over $ 1 million to local students.
