Since 2021, Gender Justice Fund has been providing funding to support trans communities through the Trans Resilience Fund, a participatory grantmaking fund using pooled foundation dollars. This year, we are extending an invitation to individuals to join us in championing trans rights and fighting for trans lives by making a tax-deductible donation to fund programs that meet the direct needs of trans people for healthcare, safety, community, economic security, and more.

In the 4 years of its existence, the Trans Resilience Fund has:

Distributed $620,000 in grant dollars, 69% of which have been used to provide direct support to trans people in the form of mini-grants, gift cards, and payment of bills.
Made 39 grants to 17 unique organizations, 71% of which have been trans-led and 59% of which have been BIPOC-led
Engaged 20 trans and non-binary people from the Philadelphia region as part of the grantmaking committee.

In the face of escalating anti-trans legislation, policy, and rhetoric, this fund is more important than ever. Our biggest grantmaking year to date was 2021, when we made $170,000 in grants. With your help, we hope to raise an additional $10,000 by April 30 in order to meet or exceed this amount and make 2025 the biggest year yet for the Trans Resilience Fund.
