I'm a writer. The madness struck me when I was eleven and somehow, it never left me even when I left it because life happened. I got married, had kids, got divorced, went to school, and lived my life. I published my first novel at age 52, which in some circles is late, but to me is perfect. I was ready.
That's why fundraising is important. There are others out there working on finding their voice and scribbling stories while also making their lives work, much like me. I work a day job because my writing, as awesome as it is doesn't support me financially. Places like Clarion West help people like me to get education and find community in an affordable way.
