Whew, finished the Write-a-thon, just at the very end made up my goals!
Two short stories: 3119 words / 6825 words respectively - nearly didn't make my target of completing two stories!

Thank you to everyone supporting the Write-a-thon and the arts!
We're over halfway through the Write-a-thon already and I'm just under halfway through my two stories.
I also finally got my packet of postcards, which I am diligently working on sending to representatives!

Our amazing intern, Elyse, has asked participants to send in our favorite line from our stories/writing so far. Since most of my postcards are reading something pretty close to "Stop this insanity." I'll go for a favorite quote from one of the half-finished stories:
"Prepared for zero gravity and oriented on par with her own ship, her push off from the hatch was too forceful and she was surprised to find herself gliding head first toward the floor of the station."
Whoops, I'm now on DAY 5 of the Write-a-thon!
Okay, I special ordered my postcards from the Majority Project folks (is it a scam? I hope not!) and they haven't arrived yet: https://www.signsofjustice.com... I'm going to start just writing on my representative websites until the postcards get here.
I have been consistently sprinting in Discord about 500 words a day. My first story is taking some rough shape. I will definitely share the results with the Accountabilibuddy writing group, but it's not ready for the world, that's for sure!
Today is DAY 1 of the Write-a-thon!
Was so excited to get started this morning with the Q&A from Stephen Graham Jones. I'm still in awe of the sheer amount of stories he's writing! Amazing.
Now sitting down for an hour with other Write-a-thoners here at Common AREA Maintenance, such a good way to focus and get started.
Today I'm working on my first story. I have a new version of a longer story I've been trying to tell in our Sunday morning Accountabilibuddy group and I'm excited to learn in to it. I am not like SGJ and will not be done with a first draft today, but my goal is to have a first draft done before Monday so that I can focus on the post cards to representatives all week next week.
I'll update daily word count as I go!
This is my 9th Write-a-thon! To celebrate, I am setting a writing goal of 2 short stories and 7 postcards to each of my representatives asking them to stand up for democracy and to continue to support arts programs!
I'll add a postcard for every $9 donation on my page!
Thank you for supporting Clarion Wests!
