I believe in Clarion West's mission to support emerging writers, especially for those from underrepresented communities. In our current political climate, we need your support more than ever!
In solidarity with our hardworking students, this month, I commit to:
- Write 20,000 words towards my fungal post-apocalyptic hopepunk novel, Bloom.
- Revise & submit “Lady Sayuri and the Case of the Merchant’s Haunted Balls”, my first story about a trans-femme Kabuki actor turned Edo's first people's consulting detective.
- Draft & submit “The No-no Girls”, a dieselpunk-mech story about Japanese-American women breaking out of a WW2 “enemy alien” prison camp.
- Post weekly updates on my progress, as well as more insights into Clarion West and my own journey through the science fiction world.
If you donate any amount, you will receive
- A digital copy of my first story sale of the year (to the forthcoming Muddy Goose Guide to the Weird Northwest), "Dreams in the Witch's Castle", about a Japanese-American vet who reluctantly returns to Portland's Forest Park to help lay his beloved Obaachan to rest.
- Upon completion, a digital copy of "Lady Sayuri and the Case of the Merchant's Haunted Balls"
- Upon a completion, a digital copy of "No-no Girls".
If you donate $30 or more, you will be entered into a drawing for a copy of The Muddy Goose Guide to the Weird Northwest (releasing this August!).
If you donate $75 or more, I will also send you a copy of one of the anthologies I'm published in.
If you donate $135 or more, you get all of the above, plus I will write you (or at least your name) into my novel. (or I can promise to not to write you into my novel /g)
On behalf of Clarion West, thank you so much for your support!
