Sloper Plunge Event Info

Join us for the coolest fundraiser in town on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 1PM! at YMCA Camp Sloper! Each year, hundreds of community leaders and volunteers from both Southington & Cheshire jump into the Sloper Pond to raise money for local children in need to have the opportunity to have the camp experience!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT TOMORROW'S PLUNGE:

While we have done a ton of work to safeguard the area, the property still has some icy spots and there are some slip/fall potentials if people do not stay in the designated areas. Please stay in the roped off walkways for the safety of everyone at the event.
Parking is extremely limited – please carpool if possible and send a message to your team about car pooling. Also, the parking lots are cleared but still a bit icy in some spots – please drive slowly and proceed with caution.
An ambulance from AMR will be on site as usual per our safety protocols and we will also have a warming hut this year provided by Southington CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).
ALL plungers MUST complete the online waiver here: https://form.jotform.com/243444467437160
ALL plungers MUST check in at the registration area at the Sloper Store to make sure that we have your waiver on file and drop off any cash or checks if needed.
Still time to fundraise as we are about 75% to our goal of $100k – thanks in advance for all your efforts.

Information on Participating in the 2025 Sloper Plunge is Below!

Whether you have been part of the Sloper Plunge in the past or want to check this off your bucket list - we hope you're able to jump with us this year! Please see the information below for the steps you can take to join a team and participate in the 2025 Sloper Plunge!

To participate in the plunge, you need to meet the following criteria:

Minimum age: 16 years old with parent consent or 18 years or older to participate (as of February 22, 2025).
Must be able to swim without assistance.
Obtain donations for yourself totaling a minimum of $100 per participant. (Please set up your fundraising page at this time to maximize your fundraising efforts).
Sign and submit a online waiver prior to taking the plunge. Parents/Guardians must complete and sign waivers for 16 & 17 year old minors.
Pre-register with one of the Team Captains. To see a list of our Southington Team Captains, please click here and for our Cheshire Team Captains, please click here.
Turn in the PLEDGE FORM and WAIVER FORM (if not already completed online) to the YMCA in Southington or Cheshire (29 High St, Southington or 967 S Main Street, Cheshire) on February 21 from Noon - 5:00PM or bring it with you on plunge day!
