REMEMBER HOW HE LIVED

REMEMBER HIS NAME

Sgt. Tyler Sansonetti

REMEMBER HOW HE LIVED

Tyler Sansonetti was born on December 27, 1992, and grew up in Harrison City, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Penn-Trafford High School in 2011.

Tyler was athletic from an early age, spending much of his childhood playing baseball, basketball, and other sports. He loved his dogs, Thumper and Jake, and was known for his terrific sense of humor and highly competitive nature.

He was a win-at-all-costs and have-fun-at-all-costs kind of person.

Tyler was incredibly social and had a gift for making friends wherever he went. He was fiercely loyal to the people he loved and was the kind of person who would always stand by his family and friends.

That was Tyler.

Not simply a Marine.
Not simply a Sergeant.
Tyler.

REMEMBER WHO HE LOVED

Tyler is deeply missed by his wife, Bethany; his parents, Paul and Maureen; his brothers, Paul and Andrew; and his sister, Nicole.

He is also missed by his brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched.

For those who knew and loved Tyler, his absence is felt every day.

But so is his memory.

REMEMBER WHY HE SERVED

Tyler enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at just 17 years old through the Delayed Entry Program. Shortly after graduating from high school, he left for Marine Corps recruit training and began what would become an 11-year career of service.

Stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Tyler deployed numerous times and earned leadership positions within his artillery unit, including Section Chief and Platoon Sergeant.

He lived the Marine Corps values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment and was deeply dedicated to the Corps and, especially, to the brotherhood he shared with the Marines beside him.

His service took him around the world, including Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, the Red Sea, Norway, and parts of the North Atlantic.

For 11 years, Tyler answered the call to serve.

He led.
He traveled.
He deployed.
He built lifelong bonds with his fellow Marines.

And he served his country with pride.

REMEMBER HIS SACRIFICE

On March 21, 2022, Sgt. Tyler Sansonetti died at the age of 29 while proudly serving his country.

He was far too young.

He had a wife, parents, siblings, family, friends, and an entire future still ahead of him.

His life was cut short, but his story did not end there.

Because the measure of a life is not only in the years we are given.

It is in the people we love, the lives we touch, the service we give, and the legacy we leave behind.

Tyler's legacy is still being carried.

CARRY HIS LEGACY

I’m rucking in honor and memory of Sgt. Tyler Sansonetti.

I’m doing this because I believe remembering someone means more than simply saying their name.

It means honoring the life they lived, the sacrifices they made, and the people who continue to carry their memory forward.

Sgt. Tyler Sansonetti made sacrifices that most of us will never fully understand. I may not be able to repay that sacrifice, but I can carry some weight for a few miles—and use those miles to make sure Tyler's name and story continue to be remembered.

Every mile is a reminder.

A reminder of a young man who chose to serve.

A reminder of the family who continues to carry his loss.

A reminder of the Marines who served beside him.

And a reminder that the freedoms we often take for granted come at a cost.

HELP US CARRY IT FORWARD

I would like to use this opportunity to support the Drew Ross Memorial Foundation in Tyler’s honor.

Every step of this ruck will be for Tyler.

Every dollar raised will help carry forward a mission of remembering, honoring, and supporting those who have given so much.

You don't have to ruck with me.

You don't have to know Tyler.

You don't even have to donate.

You can simply take a moment to learn his name. Learn his story. Remember the life he lived.

And if you are able to donate or share this page, I would be incredibly grateful.

Because when we remember them, their legacy continues.

I’ll carry the weight.
You help carry the mission.

For Tyler.

For his family.

For those who serve.

Semper Fi.
