Mother’s Day looks a little different here.
Because year after year, we see the same pattern play out. The mares who have spent their entire lives doing exactly what was asked of them—raising foals, producing, being useful—are often the ones who end up with the least say in how things end. They don’t always stand out in a crowded ring, and they’re not always the ones people are looking for, but if you know what you’re seeing, their stories aren’t hard to miss.
Some will be pregnant. Some may still have babies at their side. Some are simply older, with nothing left to prove and nowhere left to go.
And too often, this is where their story is expected to end.
For the May 10 auction, our goal is to bring four horses home.

Each one represents a second chance—whether that means time to recover, a safe place to land, or simply being seen for more than what they’ve produced.
What Your Donation Supports
Our standard goal is $1,500 per horse, which allows us to responsibly say “yes” when the right horse needs us.
Each horse’s funding covers:
• Purchase price at auction
• Initial veterinary care (vaccines, microchip, basic health evaluation)
• Quarantine and first month of care
Total campaign goal: $6,000
We won’t know exactly which horses we’re bringing home until we’re standing at the ring. That’s the reality of this work. But we do know there will be at least one mare whose story has been defined entirely by what she could give—and who now needs someone to choose her simply because she deserves a different ending.
