Most recycling systems were built for convenience, not outcomes. Bottle Underground is redesigning that from the ground up.

As Philadelphia’s first Glass Circularity Lab, we are developing a practical, community-rooted infrastructure model that keeps more material in circulation and creates value locally. Every year, thousands of tons of glass end up in landfills not because it can’t be recycled, but because the system is not designed to capture its value. Bottle Underground is changing that.

Since 2020, we have established a living system for glass circularity, combining dedicated processing capacity with smarter collection and workforce partnerships to support local livelihoods and keep valuable material out of landfills.

We are raising $50,000 to solidify this infrastructure and expand our impact. Your contribution directly supports:

Youth Internship Programming: Building practical pathways and experience for the next generation.
Volunteer and Community Efforts: Equipping grassroots collection and community engagement.
Training and Workforce Development: Creating sustainable opportunities and jobs in our community.

Circularity is not a theory; it is a set of choices, partnerships, and systems that make waste avoidable and value recoverable. Thank you for helping us build the infrastructure Philadelphia needs and the future our materials deserve.
