Where the Funds Go

Proceeds from NYC Consulate Cup team registration fees support Community Cup, City in the Community’s free citywide youth tournament connecting 30 neighborhoods across New York City. The event gives young people ages 8–11 the opportunity to represent their community with pride in a structured tournament environment that brings together families and neighborhoods from across the five boroughs.

Community Cup serves as the tentpole celebration of City in the Community’s year round programming and highlights the network of community mini pitches built across the city, as well as the free programs delivered to thousands of young people annually.

About City in the Community (CITC) NY

City in the Community (CITC) NY is the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation proudly supported by New York City FC. Its mission is to empower young people and strengthen communities across New York City through free soccer programming, youth leadership development, and health and wellness initiatives.

Since launching in 2010, CITC has engaged more than 70,000 young people across 86% of New York City communities, delivering programming in 120+ school gyms and community spaces citywide. The organization also creates pathways for participants to train and work as coaches and young leaders.

CITC has helped expand access to safe places to play across the five boroughs by building 55 community mini pitches to date, with a goal of constructing 25 additional pitches by 2027.

Team Registration Contribution

Participating teams are asked to contribute a suggested donation of $2,000, which helps offset event costs while supporting Community Cup and the broader work of City in the Community.
