The Omega Charitable Foundation of Omaha is proud to lead and organize the Domestic Violence Awareness Walk & Resource Event in partnership with the Women's Center for Advancement (WCA) and Black Excellence - UNO's Black Student Union. This community-focused initiative was created to raise awareness about the impact of domestic violence, honor survivors, connect individuals and families with vital resources, and engage community members, businesses, and organizations in building a safer and stronger community.

Domestic violence affects individuals, families, and communities in every neighborhood, regardless of age, background, or circumstance. Too often, survivors face their challenges in silence, unaware of the resources available to help them find safety, healing, and hope. This event brings our community together to raise awareness about the realities of domestic violence, support survivors, and reinforce the message that no one should have to face violence alone.

More than just a walk, this event serves as both a call to action and a show of solidarity. Participants will have the opportunity to honor the strength and resilience of survivors, learn about community resources, and connect with organizations dedicated to prevention, education, advocacy, and support services. Together, we can promote healthy relationships, increase awareness, and work toward a future where every person has the opportunity to live free from violence.

In addition to the walk and resource event, the Omega Charitable Foundation of Omaha will conduct a month-long fundraising campaign throughout Domestic Violence Awareness Month to generate critical financial support for survivor services. All net proceeds raised through sponsorships, donations, event registrations, and fundraising activities will directly benefit the Women's Center for Advancement, helping provide crisis intervention, advocacy, emergency assistance, safety planning, counseling, and other essential services for survivors and their families. By supporting this event, participants, sponsors, donors, and community partners become part of a collective effort to create hope, promote healing, and strengthen the network of support available to survivors throughout our community.

Together, we walk to raise awareness. Together, we stand with survivors. Together, we help build a community free from violence.
