This year, we broke ground at our new home, Alderwood Farm. The year was about laying the groundwork for a place that the world truly needs. Already, we have done some incredible work, and we have big plans for 2027. We want (and need!) you to be part of them. We're raising $120,000 to fund the year ahead, starting with $25,000 through this Fall fundraiser. That $25,000 covers the base costs of our 2027 farming season: compost and soil amendments, water, seeds, tools, harvest supplies, and two staff to put it all to work. That initial push will grow thousands of pounds of organic food for our community and create education and job training opportunities for the young adults we serve.

Buying a shirt or hat — or making a donation of any size — is a great way to get involved and support this work.

This year at Alderwood Farm

Our first year on this land was a lot of hard work, and it affirmed some beliefs: that all bodies are Earth bodies, and that safe access to nature and a real connection to the land is the birthright of every living being.

This year, we welcomed young adults from our community and from various partner organizations (such as P:ear, Soft Meadow, and Queer Cobija) for arts and ecology workshops, nourishing meals, and time together. We turned our fields and forest into a sanctuary for the youth in our programs, for our staff and volunteers, and for the snails, birds, bugs, and flowers who share this land with us.

We grew nutritious, organic food and gave it away, at no cost, to nonprofits across Portland that feed our neighbors who are most in need. Between April and September of 2026 alone, we shared over 1,700 pounds of vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers (6,000 servings of food!) with partners at Urban Gleaners, Blanchet House, Our Streets, among others.

We built new paths into regenerative agriculture and the arts, open to people of every background, gender identity, and self-expression. This year we launched a farm apprentice training program and kicked off an artist residency.

Ree Artemisa, our first artist in residence, created the designs on the shirts and hats in this fundraiser.

Visitors and volunteers who've been told their bodies or their self-expression don't belong in manual labor have terraformed land, chopped wood, installed fencing, and run heavy machinery here, and put on muscle doing it!

We've watched people cry when shown their own beauty, surprised to find that a place built to nourish and celebrate all earth bodies includes their own.

We've watched friendships form, trauma processed, hungry bellies fed, and self-esteem rebuilt.

We've watched people reinvent themselves here, as artists, as farmers, as organizers, as helpers.

We did all of this in a record-tough, hyper-competitive grant year. We could not have done any of it without the volunteers, donors, and partners who showed up for us with their time and their money. Our community got us through this year, and as we build toward 2027, we need you more than ever. We hope you'll come alongside us and help us bring our plans to life.

More ways to help

Can't donate or buy something right now? We’d be so grateful if you shared this campaign with someone who might want to be part of it.

Every Tuesday morning throughout the growing season at our farm in Corbett Oregon, we host volunteer days. We'd love to see you and your friends out here. RSVP on Point for the address.

Every shirt, every hat, and every dollar brings us closer to the future we're building together. Thank you for being part of it.
