Adventure Starts With You

Every adventure begins somewhere.

For a Cub Scout, it might begin with their first Pinewood Derby car, their first night camping under the stars, or the moment they realize, “I can do this.”

For a Scout, it might be learning to lead a patrol, earning a merit badge that sparks a future career, serving their community, navigating a river, climbing a mountain, or working toward the rank of Eagle Scout.

And often, that adventure begins because someone like you made it possible.

This Giving Tuesday and year-end season, we invite you to help create the next adventure for young people throughout our communities.

More Than an Activity

Scouting gives young people something increasingly important: a place to belong, opportunities to lead, caring adult mentors, time outdoors, real responsibility, and experiences that build confidence.

Through Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Exploring, outreach programs, camps, community service, merit badges, leadership development, and countless local adventures, thousands of young people are learning skills they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

They are learning how to solve problems.

How to work with others.

How to serve.

How to lead.

And how to get back up when something doesn't go as planned.

Your Gift Makes the Adventure Possible

Providing the Scouting experience costs our council more than $600 per Scout each year.

Registration fees and program fees cover only part of that cost.

Charitable gifts help provide the infrastructure behind every Scout's experience — trained leaders, camps and facilities, program support, outreach, insurance, professional staff, equipment, volunteer resources, advancement opportunities, and affordable activities for families.

A gift of any size makes a difference.

$25 can help provide program materials and supplies.

$50 can help support advancement and outdoor experiences.

$100 can help provide training and resources for volunteers.

$300 can help cover a significant portion of the annual cost of providing Scouting for one young person.

$600 can help provide a full year of Scouting support for one Scout.

And larger gifts help ensure Scouting remains strong and accessible for thousands of families across our region.

Why Your Year-End Gift Matters

This has been a year of significant change and opportunity for Scouting in our region.

Our councils have come together, we are preparing to enter a new century of Scouting service, and in 2027 we will move forward together as Prairie Peaks Council.

At the same time, the cost of providing quality youth programs continues to rise, while several traditional sources of community funding have declined.

That makes individual donors more important than ever.

Your year-end gift helps us enter 2027 from a position of strength — ready to welcome new families, support our volunteers, maintain our camps and facilities, expand youth programming, and ensure finances are never the reason a young person misses an opportunity to participate.

The Next Adventure Starts With You

Somewhere in our council, a young person is waiting to discover something they don't yet know about themselves.

Maybe they'll discover they love the outdoors.

Maybe they'll find their confidence.

Maybe they'll earn their first badge.

Maybe they'll meet a mentor who changes their life.

Maybe they'll discover the career they want to pursue.

Maybe they'll become an Eagle Scout.

Maybe they'll simply find a place where they know they belong.

Your gift can help make that moment possible.

This Giving Tuesday — or anytime before December 31 — invest in the next generation.

Give today. Create opportunity. Build future leaders.

Because the next great adventure starts with you.
