Produced by Royal Expressions Contemporary Ballet and Founded by Princess Johnson, this year reflects growth through expanded programming, deeper community engagement, and intentional collaboration.

New for 2026:

We’re proud to introduce a first-time partnership with @thriveshiftnow — bringing a renewed focus on wellness, movement, and long-term community impact.

The Freedom Forward Juneteenth 5K & Family Fest will anchor this evolution — blending culture, health, and community into one powerful experience.

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865 — when enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas were finally informed of their freedom.

Since its founding, @juneteenthgsofest has grown into a signature cultural experience — uplifting artists, supporting local businesses, and creating space for connection through shared cultural expression.

Now in our sixth year, we continue to evolve with intention — expanding into a multi-day experience that reflects the energy, creativity, and resilience of our community.

This is more than a moment. It’s a movement.
