The Ruth E. Stafford Scholarship Fund was established in 1992 to provide financial support to two nursing students entering or completing the Licensed Practical Nurse requirements for licensure. The James D. Durante Scholarship Fund provides two scholarships to support individuals pursuing a Registered Nurse licensure or a Registered Nurse student pursuing an advanced degree in nursing. In addition, the scholarship programs support two scholarships for nurses to become certified in Gerontological nursing or pressure injury prevention / management. These scholarships are awarded to individuals working in NYSHFA | NYSCAL member facilities.

As we mark our 25th anniversary, our mission continues with renewed purpose, and today we are asking you to stand with us. Through our scholarship program, we provide critical financial assistance to long-term care professionals pursuing nursing credentials as LPNs, RNs, and Advanced Practice Nurses.
