JR served his community well, worked his entire adult life in the retail industry, raised five successful children and retired only a few years ago. As he settled into retirement, his wife noticed him moving a little slower, his steps were shorter, and his balance needed a little TLC. After a few visits to his primary care doctor and neurologist, JR learned, “I have Parkinson’s Disease.” Can you imagine how he, his wife and children felt about this diagnosis? He had given up his favorite sport, golf among many other activities that Parkinson’s tries to stop you from. However, through the help of Community Wellness Partners and other resources, JR was determined, “I’m not going to give up so fast!”

Please note that we only host a couple of fundraising events throughout the year, so your contribution, participation, and partnership have a tremendous impact on our mission as we remain steadfast to provide exceptional care to individuals like JR in our community.

By the way, because of Community Wellness Partners programs, JR now participates in a weekly golf league!
