APBD Manifests During the Prime of Life and Has No Treatment Options
APBD is an ultra-rare, inherited disorder of metabolism that gives no indication of its presence in infancy or childhood. But it strikes adults when they're in the prime of life -- as young as 35. At the current time, there is no FDA-approved treatment or cure.

Since our founding in 2005, we have raised and awarded over $2 million in pilot research grants as a Foundation and through UPenn's MDBR. These seed grants have made possible the ground-breaking drug discovery and biomarker development initiatives that are progressing today.
