Roar 2026 is the first-ever gathering of CASK gene disorder researchers, clinicians, and families — brought together at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. For two and a half days, the people working to cure CASK and the people living with it will be in the same room, at the same table, moving toward the same future.

CASK gene disorder is an ultra-rare, X-linked condition affecting brain development. Fewer than 600 individuals, mostly children, are diagnosed worldwide. There are no targeted treatments. Project CASK — the world's largest patient advocacy funder of CASK gene research — has committed over $631,500 to eleven active research studies, with an additional $150,000 investment planned for 2026.

With a neuroscientist who has taken gene therapies into clinical trials now mapping every viable therapeutic path for CASK, we are closer than we have ever been. This conference is where that momentum becomes movement.
