In Flight, Inc. was founded in 1993 as a Medicaid service coordination agency. Since opening, In Flight has grown to offer multiple programs serving individuals with intellectual disabilities

Our Residential program promotes skills for living independently and our Day-Habilitation, Community Habilitation, ISAIL, and SEMP programs teach new skills in communication, socialization, volunteerism, and employment.

Independence is a journey, and Dan’s story is a powerful reminder that progress takes time, determination, and opportunities to grow.

Over the years, Dan has worked hard toward an important goal: returning to an apartment of his own. Along the way, he has continued developing the skills that help him live as independently as possible.

Dan works as a cashier at a local grocery store, has learned to manage his money, and takes pride in maintaining his home. He also stays active in his community through a local bowling league, Special Olympics basketball, and Special Olympics Sports Club. He is continuing his education by taking classes toward earning his GED.

In 2026, Dan reached a major milestone: he was approved to move back into his own apartment.

His journey is still unfolding. He continues to work toward his goals, build new skills, and look ahead to what comes next.

At In Flight, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to pursue their hopes and dreams. Your year-end gift helps support individualized services and opportunities that allow people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn, grow, participate in their communities, and work toward greater independence.
