Most people don't understand the burden of VCP disease. The I CAN MOVEment is a great chance to highlight your challenges and show the world what you CAN DO! Our goal is to raise awareness and donations to support research and patient programs at Cure VCP Disease.

Move in April, Unite in July! Start your journey with us during the I CAN MOVEment this spring, then join the VCP community as we come together at the 2026 VCP Scientific and Community Summit in July to celebrate our progress and continue advancing the mission to cure VCP disease. (Participation in the Move-A-Thon does not require Summit attendance—everyone is welcome to move with us in April!)

What: A Virtual Move-A-Thon
When: April 27 - May 3, 2026

Why: To raise awareness and critical funds for Cure VCP Disease and build momentum for our July Summit

HOW IT WORKS:

Pick a movement challenge - Walk, run, bike, or swim, finger-raises or wheelchair miles. It is up to you- get creative!
Sign-up! - Click the button to create your personal page and story. Join a team or create your own.
Share - Once you've created your page, share with your network. Send emails, texts and post on your socials. Let people know how and why to support you. Educating them about VCP disease, their donation impact, and your efforts is a great way to encourage donations.
Fundraise - People want to support you, but you need to let them know how and why. Check out our fundraising toolkit for some tips!
Challenge Week - Plan out your final fundraising push. Record yourself, take photos and don't be afraid to ask people directly to support your efforts. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!
Post Event - Celebrate your achievement! You turned your "I Can't" into an "I CAN!" and you raised some incredible funds for Cure VCP Disease. Thank your donors and let them know about your achievement.

About Our Organization:
Cure VCP Disease is a patient advocacy organization dedicated to driving the development of a cure for valosin-containing protein associated multisystem proteinopathy. It also known as IBMPFD (Inclusion Body Myopathy, Early Onset Paget’s Disease of Bone and Frontotemporal Dementia), but we call it VCP disease. It is hereditary and adult-onset, meaning that symptoms of the genetic mutation are not seen until a person is in adulthood. VCP disease can affect any combination of a patients’ muscles, bones and brain and can cause degenerative diseases including ALS, frontotemporal dementia, Parkinson’s, and Charcot-Marie Tooth. This devastating disease runs in families, and it is our mission to stop it.
